Leadership

Leadership Experience

All my life, I have been labelled as a natural leader. I took my first steps into a leadership position during the latter years of my college education. After spending two years working on the High-Ropes staff at my college’s Alumni-Summer-Camp, Camp Michigania, I was honored to be given the position of Ropes director the following summer. It was a privilege being able to work closely with my staff, and to be able to work directly with Camp Administration in order to meet the needs of the campers who visited our area, as well as the needs of my staff members.

Over the course of my tenure, I had the pleasure of interacting with many different campers from many different backgrounds, encouraging them to believe in themselves more, and pushing them to achieve more than they thought they could. I also helped bring organizational updates to the Ropes area, making it more efficient, as well as more accessible for people of all ages.

I have spent a decade working at talent agencies and production companies around Hollywood, CA. Brand new to the industry, I worked hard enough to become hired as the executive assistant to both the CEO of a major talent agency, as well as one of the agency’s top agents. During this time, I learned a lot about leadership both through observing my superiors, and through teaching during this time, utilizing my position to pass on everything that I learned to incoming employees.

As the creative executive at a smaller production company, I had the opportunity to work directly with writers and producers to develop projects that were both entertaining and fiscally responsible. It was one of my greatest leadership challenges to date.

Continuing my education, I have worked the last two years has the Director of Operations for a small advertising company, based in San Diego, CA. I learned to streamline and monitor different workflows, as I had both a staff I was in charge of, as well as a number of clients who I would interact with on a near-daily basis. It was an excellent opportunity to learn and study operations from a macro-level down to a micro-level, and how to apply methods to efficiently interact with both types of operations within a company. It also provided valuable experience pertaining to processing and implementing both positive and negative input from multiple sources.

I consider myself to be a pro-active, extremely empathetic leader. As a problem solver, I derive satisfaction and joy from helping other people achieve their goals and see success. My sunny disposition and enthusiasm both brightens up my workplace, and helps to bring out the best in everyone around me. Always looking to learn more, I place a lot of value in the people I work with, and the people I work for, and am constantly striving to see how we can all make things a little better.
